Handicap International is an international humanitarian organization that acts on the behalf of people with disabilities and vulnerable populations. The organization carries out humanitarian aid work every where a population is affected by a conflict or a natural disaster. Since its creation, Handicap International has been involved in assisting displaced populations in such places as Cambodia, Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia, and so forth.  Since 1999, we have been specifically developing our response capacities in terms of assisting populations affected by natural disasters including earthquakes, typhoons or floods.  The organization has effectively intervened in a number of emergency situations, notably in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Turkey, India, Algeria and Iran.  Today we are working in Pakistan in the region hit by the earthquake on October 8th, 2005.
