The 1997 Nobel Peace Prize

For campaign success with our partners at the International Campaign to Ban Landmines in gathering 123 country signatures for the 1997 Ottawa Mine Ban Treaty, Handicap International shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as part of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. This treaty banned the deployment, stockpiling, production and sale of anti-personnel mines, and ensured their destruction.
