In the process of accepting donations, we may request personal information, such as name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card numbers. While donor contact information and gift history are maintained in our secure databases, no credit card or financial information is stored by our organization. We utilize a secure third-party, Authorize.net, for all credit card transactions.
Donors and others interested in our work are invited and encouraged to specify their communication preferences, and we work hard to ensure we are honoring those wishes. Generally, our donors receive our bi-annual mailed newsletter, The Next Step, and between one and three other mailings per year. We strictly honor the wishes of donors who prefer to receive fewer mailings, and our records indicate those preferences. We do occasionally ask donors and other supporters about the kind of information of greatest interest to them, and we use those preferences to provide relevant communications. Donors and others may at any time request to be removed completely from our emails, outbound social media, and conventional mailings, and we comply immediately with those requests we receive.
We also offer our donors the option of donating anonymously, meaning we will not publicly recognize their gift in any way.
We encourage our supporters to contact us via email, phone, or mail to indicate their communication and donation preferences, and we invite any questions they may have.
